Hey y'all! I just had the best weekend in a long time! My husband told me to pack an overnight bag and that we had a babysitter. I jumped up and packed our bags quickly. This blog posting is not really about the entire weekend trip, but to remind you all to explore your local restaurants. We love to travel domestically and internationally, but rarely take the time out to explore or Raleigh and our surround cities. This is really a restaurant spotlight on: Yard House!

I first experienced Yard House in Boston December 2022 while at my first conference with my new sales engineering job. It was good, but I was not sure I would ever visit again. Enter Friday night and Saturday morning! We ended up staying in the Raleigh North Hills area at the AC Hotel Raleigh and across the street, I saw Yard House. My husband already had plans for us to go and guys, the food was absolutely amazing! It had been a while since I hate "heavy foods" but it was all worth it.

We were going to a Blues Festival later and wanted to get a bite to eat. We ended up splitting an appetizer: The FOUR CHEESE SPINACH DIP with feta, jack, parmesan, cream cheese, tortilla chips. So great!

For my entree, I decided to go with the SPICY JAMBALAYA with linguine blackened shrimp, andouille sausage, crawfish, chicken, peppers, cajun cream sauce. This was definitely the highlight of the dinner. I ended up taking half back to the room. My husband did the same but with the Jasmine rice.

And for dessert, we split The Brookie! It has cookie dough fudge brownie, chocolate & caramel sauces, vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

Saturday Morning

That Saturday morning we checked out and headed out for brunch. We were going to go to Another Broken Egg Cafe, but they were completely pack! So we decided to go back to Yard House to try some more things on the menu. It did not disappoint!

For Bunch we went with the wings for the appetizer. We split them and did half buffalo and half BBQ. Normally, I am a spicy girl and love the buffalo wings. But I must admit that I enjoyed the BBQ wings more.

For the entrees, my husband went with the [MAC + CHEESE]² with white truffle, bacon, chicken, mushrooms, parmesan, panko cheddar crust. I went with the HOUSE CHEESESTEAK with chopped ribeye, white american, house steak sauce, roasted garlic aïoli, fried onion strings, toasted hoagie roll. with house fries. Again, I had to cut it in half and take the rest home because it was so much food!
